Projector Replacement
I have a Viewsonic PJ501 projector, I can make an LED replacement? Lamp: RLU-150-001?
I'm just tired of shelling out $ 250-350 for a new lamp replacement every year or so. I know there are some really high powered LED out there and was wondering if there was a way fool the projector I have a good lamp in there and if I could wire up around 5-10 of these LED lights use some of the projector's power. Is there anyone out there think this is possible? Anyone with knowledge about how doing, or at least point me in the right direction. Thanks for any help!
Possible ... maybe. Advisable ... no. If you are really good with electronics and mechanics you can get something to work, but even if you lick the physical and electrical issues, I think you will struggle to focus light properly. Moreover, given "temperature" be completely different than the original lamp and probably without correction range of the projector ... resulting in poor color accuracy. If it were so easy projector manufacturers would have already introduced LED powered projectors.
