"business" projector versus home theater DLP projector for movies, games and an htpc?
I will get a front projector. I'm almost decided I need a "home theater" projector in contrast to a standard "business" projector. At first, I dismissed the home them because of their much lower lumens compared to their corporate counterparts. Of course there is a trend the company to them to be much cheaper even. These are the drawbacks by a business projector from what I've research o white space in the color wheel to increase the lumens makes it too bright o poor handling of motion in video-o fewer inputs for several o units generally do not 16:9 native, so you have to deal with gray bars o poor handling of black levels, I wonder how true these issues or problems are, and if someone uses a corporate one for their home. I must use this with our DVD players, home theater PC and a Nintendo Wii.
I saw your earlier question, and so the poster commenting on Epson is no good because it is a "business" projector. I can say from experience that there is absolutely nothing wrong with the S4 as a movie pj since it was the first I owned and so spectacular. I have even used it outside in my outdoor 24 'theater and it was plenty light enough to throw the 45 'required to enlarge. In my opinion, as long as you get a good mark pj with decent lumens, contrast ratio and resolution you will not be disappointed, and forget all this business vs. film pj nonsense. I have never found a "business" pj which is not functioning as well as a "movie" pj provided the specs are good. Weeds
