Pioneer VSX-1019AH HDMI audio issue?
Hi, I just bought the VSX-1019AH and very happy with the low sounds to my speakers, but I have a problem, I thought that this model transmits video and audio for HDMI output to your TV so you have the opportunity to use the TV speakers. even when the input channel Analog .. I can not do my TV speakers to work connecting my TV via HDMI .. I found in the receiver manual, the RECEIVER> Audio parameter manu - there is a way to switch from HDMI "Through" (no sound on TV) to the amplifier (routing audio to the TV) But when I try to find this option on the receiver, some I do not find it on the Audio parameter menu! Can anyone help please?? How can I make this receiver to send audio to my TV via HDMI??
If you set the HDMI audio to "Through ', so you will not hear any sound from the receiver's surround speakers, you will only hear sound from TV speakers. The "Through" setting is really not for people who want to use an external, more powerful surround amplifier instead of (but not beyond) the already built into the pipe. I'm not sure why you want to be able to play sound through both TV and surround speakers at the same time (unless you are short on speakers). Even the cheapest surround speakers will still sound better than those built into most flat-screen TV and you would just be messing with it proposed surround sound box if you have added TV speakers to a 5.1 speaker setup. On page 31 in your manual says that you can connect an amplifier to Zone 2 audio outputs using RCA cables, so in theory you could connect this output to the TV's stereo audio inputs, but these cables only support analog audio, so any digital audio (HDMI), played by the recipient will still be sent to the TV.
