Is 3000 lumens of light of a projector for a small room?

I have a 800 sq ft apartment. My room where I want the projector is about 10 x 25th Im looking for a projector, which I will use on a regular basis for television (HD satellite box), movies (standard DVD for now), and video games (Xbox 360 with HDMI connections). Im not sure how many lumens I need. I'm just a little afraid of the picture is not bright enough, when I want to use the projector on a daily basis, and anything but a perfect image will annoying.Outside light will not be a problem because I will be blacking out the windows with 100% tinted. Not sure what screen size I would be to go with, but will probably be a 100 inch motorized screen. 3000 lumen is too bright. If you have light control in the room, you do not need more than 1000-1200 lumens (It's rated brightness, when adjusted for best color 400-500 lumens is fine). Read some of the reviews on the 1st Link ... of HT use on a screen about 100 "you do not need more. You do not specify a price range, but based on the proposed projectors that you seem to consider the $ 1000 and up range. I would assume you do not think a 1080p projector ($ 2200 and up) ... will focus on the 720p models. It is said projectorcentral.com site has a list of recommended HT projectors on the website ... a good place to start again a number of models that are highly valued. I would recommend a home theater model rather than a conference room / business projector. They are not so strong because the light control is assumed, but generally quiet (fans), have better color accuracy, and superior video processing. The calculator on the second link not only helps determine the distance to fit a screen size but also indicates acceptable brightness varies based on use type / room.
