it is better to have stroneger contrast or a brighter bulb?

When searching for a home theater projector? The one whith higher contrast will give you more "black". If you can manage ambient light in your room, I'll go with better contrast. However, never judge image-related products ranging from specs. Try to actually see them in action. There is more video quality than lumens and contrast.
